HOW IT ALL STARTED
MY HISTORY WITH GOLF
Two decades ago, a young me at the age of 11 got the opportunity to grab a golf club and hit a small white ball across a field everyone called "driving range". There where other kids but sure enough there were a lot of adults. It was strange but it was kind of fun.

Everyone was talking about how "hard" it is and how "intelligent" you'd have to play this delicate little game.
But all I could think about was smashing that little ball as far and as high as I possibly could and trying the impossible shot over or around obstacles pretty much every time I had the opportunity. I didn't fear the outcome. I didn't value the final score like the adults did,
I was just having fun.

A few years later I was playing for the mens team in the second highest league in switzerland and I was very proud of that. I had learned to control my game and to avoid unneccesary risks. This was a different game. It was hard and there was no place for stupid decisions. I had to play intelligently.

Back to today, I've been a captain for this team many times and have a great appreciation for the competitive side of golf. But everytime I go for a quick round of golf with my friends or my parents or even alone, I can't help myself. I sure haven't changed. I'm still that young boy who just goes for the impossible shot. Because it's just too much fun. And it's always going to be that way for me.

SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE
MY PLANS FOR GOLF
Now, there's a reason not everyone is playing golf. It's designed to be exclusive - at least here in Switzerland it is.
It's the fact that a very large piece of land is needed for quite a limited amount of people. And that makes it exclusive and expensive.

When you look at it this way, it's very obvious; to reduce the cost for golf and make it more accessible, it needs to be way more economic with it's space and the maintenance of that space.

I thought about this idea for many years and an idea came to life: Let's get rid of the golf course as a basis of the sport, but let's keep the game as exciting and challanging as ever.

What followed had many names in all the years of development and resulted in this project: NIFTYSHOT. A series of products designed to make golf possible. Everywhere. And for everyone.
